Hi, my name is Alexandra Parker and I am eleven years old. I live in Boston, which is one of the thirteen colonies. A workweek ago Great Britain sent out a naked as a jaybird law. This law was called The Townshend Acts. This stated that Great Britain was allowed to charge taxes on the colonists at any time they pleased. The colonists werent so upset almost this, until they understood that this wasnt discussed with their Parliament. This left the colonies outraged, which lead them compose a declaration. No taxation without Representation. This is how it all began.

On the evening of frame 5, 1770, my mother had sent me to the marketplace for some flour. On my mien to the marketplace I passed by the Custom tolerate earreach screaming and shouting. There I saw Private Hugh vacuous was on guard in front of the Customs House on King Street in Boston. A concourse of mischief makers had gathered and began pushing and shoving and throwing stones and pieces of ice at the British sentry. His calls for help brought eight British soldiers led by schoolmaster Thomas Preston.

In the commotion, someone yelled, Fire! and soldiers began shooting at unarmed people. The crowd is said to have provoked the redcoats, hollo Fire! Captain Preston is said to have yelled capture your fire! Five Americans were killed; seven were wounded.





After the shooting, Bostons people demanded that the British soldiers that were involved with the shootings be tried and executed. Captain Preston and eight of his soldiers were legitimate by the governor to stay in prison art object awaiting a attempt. The soldiers were defended by John Adams to help ensure they had a fair trial. Lawyer, John Adams, persuaded the jury to believe that the soldiers fired alone to defend themselves. Captain Preston and six of his soldiers were not convicted due to this trial and, therefore, set free. However, two of the soldiers were determined to be guilty of manslaughter. They were released later being labeled convicts.
