The Middle Passage is where millions of flock were kidnapped from Africa and taken to the New conception where they were sold as slaves. The scene went on to the beatings and torture that they also encountered by the crew members. That gave viewers the detect to see the blood that was shed and hear the screams of the slaves as it was calamity to them. At one point a mother is seen place her baby in her arms right before she goes overboard killing them both. She did this to escape the cruel treatment and torture that was red ink on and wanted to end the suffering.
