Introduction
The aim of this literature review is to analyse foursome research papers on a topic. The topic that has been selected is why do teenages substances harm and what are the interventions in place to alleviate quit?
The search for the research papers was carried through scientific discipline Direct, Swetwise and ASSI available on blackboard using adolescents, interventions and substance mis mathematical function as keywords. This brought up over one thousand journals, so to narrow it down further, the keywords, drug prevention, family intervention and young community were used.
Science Direct proved to be the most facilitative than the otherwises for this particular topic so all the four journals and articles in this literature review have come from this source. The articles and journals were selected by the fall of information they contained which was relevant to the question mentioned and the differences of opinions to be able to oppose information and present a critical argument.
Why do adolescent misuse substances?
According to McArdle & Gilvarry (2006) substance misuse in adolescent remains an key public health task due to its close relationship with morbidity and mortality.

Categorizing these factors from the experimental stages to the dependent or addicted is important to establish when carrying out assessments for effective treatment and preventions.
