Introduction
In this review, I bequeath share my thoughts on the book Inventing a Nation, Washington, Adams, Jefferson, written by Gore Vidal, published in 2003. In a unequalled way, Vidal expresses his views on George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, Americans starting signal three Presidents. Vidal transports the reader into the minds, the living rooms, the convention halls, and even the bedrooms of Washington, Jefferson, Adams, and others corresponding Alexander Hamilton. We come to know these men, as Vidal brings them to life and shares happen upon moments of decision in the birthing of our nation. Through numerous quotes from unknown works, he shares their opinions of each other, their worries about money, and their concerns about creating a muscular democracy. The book was written in an extremely random military personnelner. It was non easy to discover along to determine the goal of the book. The chapters werent titled so it makes it challenging for the reader to conclude on Vidals opinion of matters or have one reasonable structure.
As an analytical person, I found it hard to follow the flow of this book and understand why matters were even mentioned since near matters were not introduced properly. I did notice Vidal didnt have a consistent viewpoint in a some areas, sooner he wrote very sarcastically. This review will express my synopsis of how Vidal describes how the nation was founded and some of the contradictions in doing so.
